“According to LOSER; the recently expanded book by Clark Humphrey that chronicles the diverse Seattle sound and punk scene, it’s, “a statement of defiance against the yuppies’ obsession with ‘winners.’” The term “LOSER” or “losers of the music industry” was a reaction to corporate industry driven trends and views.”

My interpretation of that morphed into simply turning “LOSER” into “POSER.” This is my response to how I felt as an artist/creative person when the era of social media took over the world. The desire to be creative or hear about a certain new artist or find a new style/genre didn’t seem as genuine anymore. The systemic need for being accepted by others, to get more “likes.” Everyone, myself included started to not explore and learn new trends on our own. We are all being told what to wear, what to listen to, who to be. In a weird way, it makes me feel like we're all just “POSERS” But this is not to be disrespectful but my response to what social media has done to society.
